It appears the Sri Lankan authorities had plenty of warnings about the horrific attack, but sat on the info and didn't do anything about it, possibly for political reasons. "Intelligence services in India and the US told Sri Lanka of the threat in early April, officials said. One memo compiled by Sri Lankan security officials was so specific that it even gave a list of suspects. In the ru

This is good news. Bill Weld is sharp as a razor and a great conservative. Although I dont think he has any chance of winning the primary, he can turn the debate into talking about real issues, intelligent and sensible rationale, and in general raise the level of discourse... something the country badly needs. India did take down a Pak F-16 with a Mig-21 Bison. They also exhibited pieces of AMRAAM missiles that can only be carried by F-16s. This is a violation of the contract regarding use of F-16s. By Pakistan. Deep

There is a protocol (not policy) in the Justice Dept. to not indict a sitting President. This is why Nixon was named in the Watergate investigation as an "un-indicted co-conspirator." However, no such protocol exists regarding the VP - he's fair game. Assuming the Justice Dept. sticks with this protocol, and indicts Pence and names Trump as an unidicted co-conspirator, that's impeach

"The north magnetic pole has been drifting so fast that it could be a problem for smartphone maps and navigation systems. The pole has been the friend of navigators for millennia, beckoning compass needles from virtually every point on the planet. And unlike the geographic north pole, which is fixed, the north magnetic pole has been slowly migrating over time -- moving across the Canadian

This is mainly directed at Democrats, but all views are welcome. I’m not really thinking of the Dem primaries, but rather the kind of candidate they will have to run in 2020 to beat Trump. Let’s face it – 1/3rd of the electorate, Trump’s base, will vote for him for sure unless something cataclysmic happens. Dems will need someone who is everything that Trump is not, to have a realistic chance

Hi Everyone - I'm not writing this as a moderator, but as a poster, in the spirit of this board. Let us please come together to seek solutions, instead of blaming the other team. Let us collaborate instead of confronting the other side. The cumulative intellectual firepower on this board is enormous. Imagine what could happen if we worked together... The constitution allows for only 2 options to remove a President from office. 1) Impeachment; 2) Invoking the 25th amendment for the removal of the President by the VP and cabinet members stating that the President is "unfit for office." 'Under the amendment's fourth stipulation, it would only take 14 people to depose the president - Vice President Mike Pence and 13 of Trump's 24

The process of impeachment requires a House majority and a 2/3 supermajority in the Senate. While the first part is possible, do you seriously think they can garner 68 Senate votes with the Republicans in control? Especially with the threat of political and other retaliation from Trump if it fails, and them having displayed the spines like jello thus far? Deep

I'm talking about the House, of course, not the Senate. Most of these will be blocked by the Senate. My best guesses: 1) Try avert the govt. shutdown with a "wall-less" budget; 2) Open additional oversight investigations into allegations of Russian and Saudi collusion, some of which may border on treason; This might cause Trump to tweet that the Congress should be dissolved... 3) T

You pose a legitimate question with proposed solutions, and deserve an answer. My responses are in the bulleted points below: 1. Shut down the empire. Pull most overseas troops back home. Shut down military deployments in Afghanistan, Japan, South Korea, the middle east, and Europe.  It will cede all geopolitical space to Russia and China, not to mention the small regional powers like Turk

The senior US official told CNN on Friday the conclusion is based on a recording provided by the Turkish government and other evidence, incl

I had a strange experience that I’m not sure I should share. I’ve been really sick the last few days with a high fever and gastrointestinal bacteria that had messed me up. So a coupla nights back, I woke up in the middle of the night needing to go to the toilet, badly sick with E. Coli. I woke up and realized the power (electricity) was out. It was pitch dark, couldn’t see my own hand. Tried r

Republicans will keep the Senate, but the Dems might take the House. And if that happens some idiot Dem like Maxine Walters will likely launch impeachment proceedings, blissfully unaware that it takes a supermajority of 67 votes in the Senate to pass. Deep
