Hi In my humble opinion it is very difficult when certain individuals clash on message boards, especially when one of them may(rightly or wrongly) perceive that the other is hounding them. A little phrase dropped here, casually or otherwise, or an aside after-thought opined there - But there ya go, as they say. And it serves as a lesson in how the pen can be mightier than the sword. - which

That's an open question - to which I don't have an answer, neither is my place to comment on it. Meanwhile, I have another question - Is it a shame when a longstanding poster, who perhaps has become upset by the way that their personal spiritual beliefs were debunked directly on the boards, disappears totally from the boards; when they had been such a regular and long standing contribitor of i

I once knew a guy who boasted that he could jump higher than a street light/lamp post. Now, he was certainly fit, but I thought that no way could he jump as high as that. So I told him that he was making it up, but he said he definitely could! I asked him how come - to which he replied: (see further down in this post.... ) "Because a lamp post

My wife sometimes says things like:- "Can you get my diary out of my bag please? It's in the bedroom" Five minutes later, after I've hunted through at least three of her various handbags without success, she then calls out:"- "Oh! It's Ok, I've found it in my bag on the sofa!" On other occasions I'm asked to get the cheese from the fridge. Problem is, we sometimes hav

Speaking as an ex Mod on these Boards, it's important for posters to carefully abide by the spirit of toleration, mutual respect, understanding and co-operation. The saying "The Pen Is Mightier Than The Sword" has never been truer as far as message boards go, as the written word in this environment conveys perceived meaning and information only, and is devoid of the eye contact, faci

How very sad. Such an angelic, wistful voice she had; as pure and free as the wind. May her soul fligh high and her legacy last and last and last. I shall play a Tribute to her today, in a coupla hours time on my weekly radio show at The Flea FM. If you do want to tune in, it's streaming live at []

Hi N Thanks for your view ref. Linux I don't doubt it has great features equal to if not surpassing MSW. But I have loadsa legacy stuff/proggies etc, including original MS Dos ones, and I've actually worked on the original IBM PC. I joke that I cut the first IBM PC's umbilical cord, lol, back when IBM used to advertise it on UK telly with a Charlie Chaplin cartoon, and to this day I own a k

Save me a place round the campfire! - Consider it done - as the fairies watch the people dance round and round it in a moonlit meadow, under a starry quilted night sky. :)

Hey Fuzzy...THANKS for your Heads Up - it was 3 years and more of very hard work and painstaking research... not least on the part of good old Kees Van Dongen and Steve Nixon. And, sooner or later, we hope to bring on more guests. And Congrats to you on the arrival of yet another addition to your family.... regards Guy

To Mac or not to Mac, that is the Question :) I haven't ever tried one out, put off in general as I am afaik by the traditionally high price, lack of upgradeability and the restrictions on hardware tweaking opportunity etc, but no doubt Mac users loyalty stem's from the nice functionality, user-friendliness and reliability. That said - the following site offers hope if you ever toy with the

I've had no probs with IE at all... but I'm unhappy that they've dropped Windows Mail as well as Outlook Express in favor of Windows Live Mail. I don't like the look and functionality of Live Mail, even though it does actually carry a Calendar....which I reckon is an attempt by MS to placate grumblers. Loadsa folks testing Win 7 are complaining to MS about this totally unnecessary change of nat

I can't do the Aero shake thing on my test machine at present, ├žos it only has an old 32 MB AGP card (I'm a lover of seeing exactly how well old legacy hardware can keep up with MS's latest bells and whistles, lol)....but I'm toying with the idea of experimenting with running the vid thru the onboard VIA integrated graphics chip instead.

I'm testing the Release Candidate of MS Windows 7 Ultimate, currently. Downloaded it for free last month before MS halted that freebie testing offer, and so far it certainly flies along. I'm testing it on an AMD Athlon 2.6 Ghz system with 1.5 Gig RAM & a 40 Gig IDE drive, and the only prob I had was the sound playback and recording sounding "jittery", but I've cured that via tweak

Hi Julia CCleaner is one of the tools I use , and it's one of the best cleaning applications around - the first time you run it you'll be amazed at how much crud gets stored on your PC - not only by your Internet browser but also other applications. And, yes, it clears EVERYTHING that the Web dumps on your PC. To check its thoroughness just firstly run Internet Explorer's history ceaner and te

I don't use FB but my wife does, as being in New Zealand we can keep in touch with friends and fam etc back in UK and in Oz - and the friends number thing is just a youthful credibility status rating which you can also see happens at Mypace and on YouTube profiles. She's adept at blocking unwanted "friend" requests, these days. It just comes down to familiarity with settings. But my wi
