So how come all those massive herds of buffalo didn't cause climate change before the trigger happy Americans started shooting them? It's arrant nonsense. Bad farming practices certainly damage the environment and produce local climate effects but most of those are down to crop production.

Explain something to me Andy - Why do I not see these effects where I live? I can see the effects of a whole bunch of pollutants including fly tippers AND noticed a vast difference after the clean air act (c1956UK) but of global warming or sea level rise nothing is apparent.

The CO2 comes from the volcano in massive quantities. Literally there is no oxygen so things die. CO2 in the normal atmosphere is a trace gas 0.O4% ie 400 parts per million so no such effect occurs

Even weirder the Earth has vastly different CO2 levels according to locality. A look at the output from the new satellite concentration levels at different points on the Earth. It can be dangerous near volcanoes due to collection in low lying pockets.

Sea level is given as a global average. It's probably crap because it's impossible to measure in mm but the problem with your argument is cherry picking. Newlyn is averaging about 1.8mm a year according to it's tide gauge.

Studies would be great especially if they ditched the models. The Paris excuse is that ice in the Western Antarctic is losing mass odd thing is they never mention the volcanoes there. Like you said reality is complex unfortunately all the other factors except AGW never get aired.

What's left or right wing got to do with it? Paris is not about science just political posturing and taxation.

There are a number of issues the worst being the lack of generating capacity. They keep shutting and mothballing plants.Dumb and Dumber seem to be running our energy supplies.

Unfortunately there is very little humour in keeping driving up energy costs. The UK is now one stage from desperate in its ability to survive a cold winter due to a lack of energy.

I prefer the simplistic approach acceleration is the rate of change not some mathematical game. I might dispute any figures which are manufactured or 'transformed' but the graph clearly defines a steady rise over time with some transient rate of change trends in both directions. I wouldn't expect perfect linearity either since so many unrelated things affect levels. The problem I have with AGW is

The law was imposed after she was elected? Does that electorate have the right to object to a law they find repugnant or does it need another revolution? What brassed me off is the gloating What do you want next put everyone who doesn't agree with a law in a mental institution or maybe a concentration camp?

It's manners not manors and I'm not sure what context you're using that word in. Why should she resign she was elected not appointed. She didn't choose anything it was imposed by some very contemptible peope who are hell bent on breaking up the family unit. It has nothing to do with justice just dictatorship.

How would I tell if you are gay or not? Put simply I don't care it's not my problem. If you're running multiple accounts that's a different issue. If you think anything is served by banging up a middle aged woman for an indefinite period over such a trivial matter serves any sort of justice then further conversation is pointless. The fact you and your ilk applaud and gloat over such action tells

I'm not convinced about anything to do with these measurements. Supposedly it's gone up 8" or so since 1800 what is being compared with what?

! was responding to David L I've no idea what you're peccadilloes are. The idea that he was glad that she'd been imprisoned sort of rankled. Far as I can see this is your first comment on this thread unless you're running multiple accounts.

Approximately a tenth of an inch a year means nothing. The sea is on an unstable platform and in constant flux.

There was no internet or TV in Germany in the 1930's. Even radio was the province of the rich. The people were desperate with a currency that was worthless. It's difficult to imagine peoples views at that time. Your comments about the current British public are offensive. We are not lackeys of royalty and probably have much more real freedom than Americans.

If you go with the "big bamg" theory many physical constants had to be in place in the first infintestimal part of the first second. I don't know how anyone could test it since the conditions were so extreme. The odds against this happening are ridiculous and the reason some atheist scientists have been floundering about for a different theory.

Low frequencies have been experimented with both for weapons and meditation. However Most scanners will be operating at light frequency xband infrared etc. How a stone is meant to produce a pulse from that for the claimed result is beyond me. Quartz could produce some EMF effects so could magnetic ores however these would be miniscule. More likely the guy took one look at the image and thought it

I come to these boards because many of the topics interest me. Nothing to do with expectations or lore from some ancient cults. One point that is worth making is that most people that come here are open to new ideas so any author operating within these sort of topics has a captive but critical audience.

That was the exact point of the comment. If I'd looked at UK's weather over the last 12 months it's been cold and wet. Even the Channel Islands got a heap of snow recently which one older resident said he hadn't seen same for 3 decades. However I'm not expecting massive glaciation anytime soon. It's what brasses me off about alarmists lots of claims no substance.

I suspect the swarm(s) are associated with comets which may have entered the inner solar system anytime in tens of thousands of years. I don't take much notice of statistics regarding hits since a rock of this size could hit anytime without detection, Up to the twentieth century these things could have hit the Earth regularily without detection. They don't leave much if any trace.

Let's stick to evidence without discussing personalities here. There are two elements here the precision and weight. Can anybody help with either?
