Prayer, fasting, meditation and self(ego) abandonment is a good place to start. It will happen when you are ready. That which you truly desire will manifest. Namaste, Sheryl

You are absolutely correct. It was a colloquialism. The idiom meant to fail to express our true nature as Good and instead do something stupid that caused us to feel separate from God. Namaste, Sheryl

Hi, Just to throw in a whole different perspective, I'd like to venture an opinion on this story. The way I perceive the story in Genesis is that Adam represents Consciousness(Spirit) and Eve represents psyche/soul(inner self). Consciousness and Psyche were one, then were divided. Psyche(Eve) led Consciousness(Adam) into identification with the body. The Serpent or Devil/Saten is our negative sel

Hi Kristina, I think you will find the stories in the Bible similar to the stories in other cultures. Don't take it literally. Eden was simply 'a pretty place' and Israel meant 'mankind.' The Divine abides within us all and the stories to help us find the spark within that was given to all cultures. Enjoy the read, but keep an open mind. It was not meant to be a historical account, but a signpos

I thoroughly enjoyed The Celestine Prophecy. I think there is a lot of truth contained within the pages of this book. There is a guidebook that can be read in conjunction with it that makes it even more meaningful. It is a marvelous springboard into the inner paths of learning. Namaste, Sheryl

Hi All, The Bible has value only in the way it speaks to you as an individual. You learn from it what you are ready to learn. This is not to discount or discard the sacred texts of other religions. There is a golden thread of truth that weaves its way through all 'sacred' texts. It should not surprise you that Shakespeare's plays related to the Bible. He was one of the translators/composers of

Absolutely! He was talking to those new to the teachings, and the commandments are a good starting place for the new initiate. By practicing them you learn to love yourself. Later, in Mark12:29-31 he was speaking to some who had a bit more understanding and reduced the commandments from 10 to 2. Love God and Love your neighbor as yourself. The closer you draw to God, the less rules you need. You

Hi All, When a child stands for the first time or walks, they don't need to look around for approval. If they knock over a glass of milk, they don't feel guilt unless it has been previously programmed into them by an adult. They watch it flow, touch it, taste it, smell it, watch the patterns it makes and sometimes draw pictures with it. They become discovery. In this manner, we need to come to k

Hi All, Loved your post Jim. So true. David spoke of blind humans living without God or attention to God, but doing that doesn't mean God doesn't exist. Humans fear what they don't understand. Only when they can get past that fear and become open to understanding will they realize that a 'much better place' exists and begin to find their way back to it. Guy asks, 'Can we die without God?' The word traditionally translated as 'sin' is the Greek word 'hamartia.' It was an archery term that meant 'to miss the mark.' For original Christians, to 'sin' did not mean to do evil. It meant to mess up, failing to express our true nature(good), and do something stupid that caused us to feel separated from God. Funny how meanings get twisted over time, isn't it? Sheryl

I think God cares about our Spirituality, not how we behave physically. I believe that within all beings there is a Divine spark that connects us to each other and to God. Sometimes what people do physically separates them from God. God never separates from us.

Maria is quite correct. Mystery Religions of old all had exoteric and esoteric teachings. Those still beginners in the outer teachings realized that whoever controlled what the people were to know about God held the power. Desiring power, they took the ball and ran with it. Many of the Inner Teachings were lost and destroyed. Those knowing the truth had to go into hiding if they wanted to live. I
