Hi Steve, Good of you to remember after all this time, and to notice that I have, indeed, got stranger......hehehehehe. I hope to put in the occasional appearance in these parts from time to time, subject to boat-works and so on. David

Hi Kees, Yes indeed, it's been a while. :-) Much has occurred since last year, mostly very good, some really good, and a little just good. In the latter category Time Bandit ( the boat ) was virtually destroyed by some catastrophic flash flooding that happened in September, we were lucky believe it or not, more than half of the comparative vessels were completely obliterated. Thankfully we wi

Hi C-A, If you think that I'm falling for any more threads about the role of women, you've gotta be kidding ! I'm staying firmly out of trouble, and on the side-lines for this one. Send for care-package when necessary, and we will try to do what we can..... :-)) TBX, GNR and Bar-t Simpson

You'd be surprised how many offers I get like that from people on the boat, especially at this time of year. The problem is that I came to the tropics precisely to get away from the bone-chilling stuff, so I really can't be persuaded to swap it back for anything....except the odd ski trip, maybe. :-) TBX

He's pulling your leg, Claude....as in the movie, 'Groundhog Day', doing the same thing over and over ??? Anglophonic humour again, I'm afraid. Can't be helped, it's just the way things are. =^0 TBX

You're dead right Martin, I'm thoroughly fed up with these constant day after day sub 30 C temperatures. We even had to turn off the air-conditioning in the dog's kennel the other night ! :-((( "I'm not going to do any more genuflecting in the Stygian marshes" Demosthenes ( 384-322 b.c. ) TBX ( Personally I thought Bill Murray did a better job than the rodent. )

ok that sort of halfway got there..... the bit that is missing, because the system is trying to 'read' it, is that in front of the url there is this without the gaps [ u r l ] and behind [ / u r l ] How about that ?

the question ??? To my mind, especially having read all of the various comments, we are slightly missing the point here. How did it come about that such a wonderful part of the human experience came to be an item to hide, or be proscribed by public ordnance ? Even more so, how did it come about the here, in the supposed 'Third World' where I currently reside, the vast majority of young mothe

Hi CA, Sorry about my perverse-thinking trashcan of a 'mind', but the thought struck me that who knows if she was really in a coma....and who knows if the poor old fella really gassed himself ?? Would be a caste-iron alibi, if ever I heard one , wouldn't it ? TBX P.S. I do hope my other post about getting rid of all the attorney's in the world didn't get too far up your proboscis.

Hi, Yes, definitely. Go to see Caracol, it's off the western highway, close to the turning is a little hotel/bar/restaurant owned by a South African guy called Cesar, thus it's called Cesars. Great hospitality, reasonable prices, easy to organise transport up to Caracol, which is one of the largest sites ( est over 4000 buildings overall ) in Meso-America. When I was last there they were jus

Glad you liked it, and no I don't really have anything much to add, except to say that perhaps someone should inspect the object in question, and check whether there is the name 'John Kay' marked on it anywhere. :-) TBX ( Requires a little thought )

Hi Peeps, Now here's an interesting one that I picked via TDG ( Thanks Greg ). For years I have used the example of people 'sensing' when someone is looking at them to illustrate that things are not always as straightforward as they may appear. That we may have 'senses' that go beyond the 5 'normally' accepted ones. Now Rupert Sheldrake has been running an experiment to see whether this is sta

Yes, Stephanie, quite right. Also absent from most of the most emotive 'predictions' of what the 2012 date might mean, is the intriguing information that the Mayans loved to play with dates. So far, and goodness knows how little has been deciphered, there are dates that run many millions of years into our 'past', and even more so into our 'future'. I cannot recall exactly, and the last ones know

Hi Ian, "To start with, I would like to tell everyone that I can tell the future... I can tell you that tomorrow at 4.00pm, I will be getting ready to leave work! I can tell you this because mankind has observed the movements of the sun and our planet around the sun, which has in turn allowed us to create 'TIME', giving us a calendar for days, months and years, and clocks for hours, minutes

Hi Ian, Rule # 1. Don't panic ! Rule # 2. Don't worry Rule # 3. Relax and think nice thoughts instead of either # 1 or # 2 :-))) The first thing is the total fallacy that the 'Mayan' calendar ( actually we have no idea how far back it originates, but it almost certainly pre-dates the Mayans by many thousands of years ) states that the 'world' will come to an end. What it does indicate is th

XYZ, So......X, you don't mind if I call you X, do you ? :-) I wouldn't want to appear overly......how shall we say......familiar ? Yes, is the short answer, Mr. Wright does a splendid job of setting out not just the Mayan calender, but all of the social and cultural side-bar issues, such as which of the numerous deities are 'on watch' at any particular 'time'. It looks like 2012 is going to b

Hi, and welcome, :-)) I'm pretty old around here.....although I've been on an extended leave of absence, cruising other dimemsions for a year or two. One of the best reads on the subject of the Mayan Calendrical system is the delightful " Time Among the Maya " by Ronald Wright, ISBN # 0802137288. I can thoroughly recommend it as both informative and entertaining. And no, I don't thi

"I wonder if Bryan regrets choosing us." It is my understanding that no matter how 'obscure' things may appear, each choice made at the levels above the physical, for events that play out in the physical, are always exactly as desired. In this sense you can be sure that Bryan is more than satisfied with the start that you gave him in this life-experience. The old text from which was

You probably have never heard of me before, Robyn, but I am known here of old. My heart goes out to you in your trial of understanding, and few words can be of comfort in such a situation ... even a year later. "Bryan was my sensitive child always searching." Aye, and here's the rub ... he's searching still, 'death' is truly but an illusion, one of the greatest and worst of a

Hi M-D, Shanti and All, Yes, Shanti, I was about to try to compose something along the same lines. It has also been my experience that dreams have multiple facets, and thus cannot be neatly 'boxed' in the way we humans love to do. I have many examples of prescient, warning, explanatory, exploratory, and countless more types of dream. I even have a kind of 'waking dream' state, which is a bit li

Hi B-W, My, aren't we bold ? and by the response so far it looks like the peeps don't want to kiss and tell ! Or.........maybe you forgot to put the third option of "Maybe". This would certainly apply in my case. I can certainly state for certain that I have very clear 'other-life' memories, and these are no whimsical, wish-I-were type of memories. Many people here have read some of
