QuoteWe constantly put out thoughts, so why would we not get something back ? We constantly think thoughts of course, but the only way to put them out, as you put it, is to communicate them by words, or images, or electronic media of some sort, or by sign language. If you have clear evidence of any other means, please describe it.

I wrote the post quoted here some days ago, but now that the AoM format this month has been clarified, I have copied and am pasting it here where it is, I hope, more appropriate. SusanQuoteFinding that the November article is already available to read, I have just listened all the way through. The hypothesis (or maybe theory would be a more appropriate word here?) sounds logical although I am so

QuoteChristianity somehow connects me with God--very indirectly--through a ritualistic process. How do I know? I feel the connection. It's that feeling that I'm trying to explore. But unless you elaborate and discuss what you understand as the means of communication, what God is, and how you think you would feel in a different religion or being an atheist, etc, then this will be a very short t

Ray The title of this topic is a really interesting one, but so far you haven't said a great deal about how you feel being a Christian and perhaps how you think it would be different from being a Jew, or a Hindu, or a Moslem and so on. You have quoted some verses and linked to some music, but how about saying why you think being a Christian is best, or why you believe Christianity has the 'righ

QuoteChristianity is a very simple Religion that can get confusing as a belief. Can you in a sentence or two state this simplicity? QuoteWhen Western missionaries went to China in the past 30 or 40 years, they got nowhere. However, on their own, the Chinese have become Christians in huge numbers. What do you think they believe? Have they set out a central theme of what they believe and are prayin

The RC church, with its dogma and set of rules must have been a very hard and high one to get on the outside of. I am so grateful that, although the CofE background was an integral part of my life, the basic belief in my family was only in God, so I was always quite near the border between belief and non-belief. QuoteIt would seem a connection to something bigger than ourselves is the core of spirituality, I strongly disagree with that. As you might have noticed, spirituality as far as I'm conncerned is connected with all aspects of aesthetics, appreciation of beauty in all nature and an understanding perhaps of its opposite. I'm reading a short book at the moment by an artist and the theme is having a b

QuoteHow does it feel to be a Christian or sharing any other Spiritual sense?I'd say it was similar to feeling part of a culture, whatever are the most likely beliefs of that group.QuoteIMO, it's not a topic for analysis: it's an experience.Sort of agree, but if a rational answer is to be achieved, then I don't think you can avoid the analysis, especially from a scientific point of view.QuoteWit

I like nature when work has done its fill for the week, but I sure do like what various religions and beliefs offer that science compartments...science offers explanations and investigations while beliefs offer what science cannot yet prove - I stress the 'yet' on that.Nice post - thank you. QuoteIt's the beauty of seeing beyond mortality, Susan.Beyond my mortality, there will be the lives and experiences of those still living. Because I am sitting recovering from exercise, I clicked on the second link. Firstly, I cannot fast forward ad videos and listened through the two positively nauseatingly ghastly ads, both with identical scripts, for magical cures for anything physically wrong with your eyes or joints, only to find some song in Russian or something. How anyone can be gullible enough to take any notice of such ads

Very interesting of course, but I think the researchers are going to have to find quite a few more pieces of evidence before being sure. I wonder whether it might have been a small group who, although interbreeding now and again with other h species, had a particular mutation which applied to them only? Definitely a watch this space article, though. Susan
