Hi PR, I really can't see what all the fuss is about. Many countries have had ID cards for years - not because of possible terrorist threats but for reasons of plain common sense. Strangely enough, it only seems like North America has this obsession with terrorist threats - the rest of the world just carry on with their lives in a normal, everyday way. I've lived in Spain for 20 years now, and

Hi Ahmed, This is a very sad state of affairs.... and unfortunately, very true. We're often hearing on the News lately that more and more women are becoming alcoholics and that a 'night out with the girls' must include getting completely out of their heads to be considered a good night out. I think that a lot of women feel the need to compete with the typical 'lad' and drink heavily to prove it

Hi Merc, I'd just like to add my congratulations to this long list from all your well-wishers ............. It really is amazing how you managed to beat all odds and get it printed - let alone actually managing to sell some copies! It must be a great book. We'll definitely be ordering a copy ................ (No, I'm not really a sci-fi fan but I do like a good book for the beach!) Geoff of

Hi Mark, I too, am a great believer in the 'Gaia' hypothesis. We must learn to live in harmony with her and try to stop the damage that we are doing to her. I don't think that we will ever destroy the earth.........she just won't let us! My belief is that we are like fleas on a dog's back to Gaia..........when she's had enough of us irritating her, she will simply scratch us away. The end of

Hi Guy, >>Will we be extinct !<< The only ones who will be extinct will be those 'dinosaurs' who still believe that a woman's place is in the home! I get the impression that many of my fellow female posters here on this MB are, like myself, professional women........ but probably, also like myself, successfully manage to run a home and have a pretty good life too. I don't think th

"There's a picture of the World Trade Center hanging up by my bed and I keep one in my Kevlar . Every time I feel sorry for these people I look at that. I think, 'They hit us at home and, now, it's our turn.' I don't want to say payback but, you know, it's pretty much payback." Did anyone mention to this person that he was supposedly flighting a 'war' against Saddam Hussein and not Os

Hi Ananda, Great post........ thanks! It's really frightening to think that there is still so much ignorance around in the so-called 'advanced' western societies. I find it amazing that a large percent of these societies are quite happy to allow someone else to lead them along through life ........... just like trusting little puppies. They go along with what they are told to do and are fed a

Hi Nebankh, That was very well put! Thankyou for voicing the opinions of many of the posters on this MB who have given up trying to explain how terrorism has been a part of their lives for many, many years now. Now, where does the IRA get a lot of it's funding??? regards, Margaret

Hi Jergat, <<<Women, on the other hand, want a little more definition to the appearance of the opposite sex. Often a chiseled jaw line or dominant upper brow is attractive. (SUPERMAN!!!) Women like cut muscle lines and rigid, triangular upper bodies. These are all generally linear in fashion. >>> Sorry to disillusion you but that is NOT what women necessarily like! It's what

Hi Lemuria, Excellent post! I found this article about the Gulf War Syndrome in the Guardian newspaper last month. At least someone is sitting up and taking notice. And an article on Mycoplasma published in the Nexus magazine in 2001. Here are a couple of very interesting articles on Aspartame. The truth is out there........... we just have to sift through all the lies to find it.

Hi Kev, Well, here's something positive happening with regards to the addition of fluoride to drinking water............. "The following stunningly Good News has come in from Rudolf Ziegelbecker and Konradin Kreuzer. The City of Basel, fluoridated since 1962, has STOPPED FLUORIDATION. Our heartfelt thanks to Rudolf and Konrad for their tireless work over four decades.*" Margaret

Hi All, As we've had a few discussions on health lately, I was wondering how you all felt about child health-care. Are our governments taking over our rights to attend to the needs of our children in our own way? Is Big Business finding even more ways to control us? How many of you are worried about this subject? Any thoughts......anyone? regards, Margaret

Hi again Pat, I've just been having a look at Vernon Coleman's site and there are some very interesting articles there, ranging from Health to Politics. This particular one caught my eye.............. I'd never heard of Vernon Coleman before but after reading all that has been said about him, he appears to be a very interesting and outspoken Doctor who doesn't give a stuff about the 'Establis

Hi Pat, I'm sorry to hear that you've been diagnosed with Stage IIIB cancer. It's one of those things that we always hope will not touch us or any of our loved ones. I'm sure that you've been to a million websites and found all sorts of possible cures but here are a few that I have heard, have had some excellent results. I'm sure that everyone here at GHMB will join me in sending you

Hi Aarooga, Thanks for posting that! It's a shame that most people don't even know about the alternatives to the dangerous treatments for cancer that are being forced down our throats. Healthcare should be about choice and people should be given all the facts about the postive and negative sides to all the treatments on offer. These are two of my favourite articles on the subject........

Hi E-rok, You obviously haven't been hearing all the horror stories of how the BBC channels have been disappearing over the last two weeks!! For Sky subscribers in the UK, I understand that only certain areas have lost their channels but for those of us outside the UK (yes, I know that it's illegal to have Sky outside the UK but I can't help it if my satellite dish receives the signal and sends

Hi Guy, Nice of you remind all those of us who have just lost all our BBC satellite channels! And no hope of ever getting them back, either..........nasty BBC people taking their services away from Sky. Hi again, Recently, I read some interesting articles on the subject of high protein/low carbohydrate diets, written by Mary Enig and Sally Fallon. Here is a list of their credentials ........ they are not just a couple of food nutters! <Mary G. Enig, Ph.D. is an expert of international renown in the field of lipid biochemistry. She has headed a number of studies on the content and effects of

Hi Kevin, <<How do you explain the longevity of the Inuit who eat a diet consisting of 100% whale blubber and seal fat. No fruits. No vegetables because they do not exist at latitude 70.>> And what about the Masai tribe and their milk-and-blood diet? Hi Aarooga, Are you using Netscape? Geoff and I have the same problem at home and it happens on my office computer too. We are using Netscape 7. As it only happens when we go to the GHMB, we are assuming that it is the site that needs its software adjusting to allow it to work with Netscape. I downloaded the Java that Ronny suggested but it was a waste of time ......... it's exactly the sa

Hi Mazg. Quite so! I have just been out to dinner and enjoyed some french fries (proper ones, made out of potatoes) with my roast chicken and then had some almond tart with ice cream. This may slow down my weight loss for a day or so but tomorrow I'll be back on the Atkins, having enjoyed a short respite from my regular way of eating. Your comment on carbo-induced wind sounds very familiar t

Hi Kevin and Mazg, It's great that 'the word' is finally getting out! I too, have been doing the Atkins diet and with great success. I lost 5 kilos in the first month and have been steadily losing weight since then ..... in total, I have lost 13 kilos so far. I've still got another 10 kilos to lose before I reach my goal but I feel that I'm well on my way now. There have been many negative co
