We'll all know soon enough. Let's hope it's a peaceful result, whoever wins.

It's an analogy so substituting one for another is what happens. It will all be clearer on Wednesday, unless it's not?

Drrayeye It's never very long before you come out with whether someone's opinion is worthwhile or not, no matter what the subject is. It seems that agreeing with you is the deciding factor there. My view is from the outside looking on, and it concerns the similarities between how Brexit and Trump have been treated by the media and the socialists. Not really much to do with US political persona

OCaptain I've never been a fan of Trump, but now I can see why many people are. He's not to blame for all your ills and pretending otherwise is just putting your heads in the sand. The alternative is worse.

That's a good study. I would be more convinced if there had been a greater effort to link the extra infections to people who had actually been to the rally's, but it's not too much of a stretch to see that people probably were infected by going to a rally. That said, the people that went had the choice whether to go or not, they knew the risks but went anyway, in their tens of thousands. New Y

Don't think so. The virus is also rampant in Europe at the moment, despite following the science. Is that Trumps fault too?

Any evidence for that, apart from your opinion?

It seems everything is Trumps fault according to you, Whoweird, even the pandemic. Do you really think Joe Biden will "crush it" like he said?

Drrayeye It isn't so much American politics that I have an opinion on as the similarities between the Brexit debate here in the UK and the Trump debate in the US. The tactics used by the media in both instances is almost identical, except yours has gone up a notch from ours. We hear virtually nothing positive about Trump at all, yet the slightest excuse to paint him in a poor light is amplifie

Whoweird It's heartening to see that you have come around to the insight that the demise of Atlantic city wasn't Donald Trumps fault but in fact it was the corrupt people he had to deal with. This was undoubtedly excellent training for a spell in politics, and he has used that experience to serve the American people very well, wouldn't you say?

Whoweird He can certainly have his moments but Trump can be quite an entertaining guy when you take your goggles off, which is why his rallies really are "mostly peaceful" and his supporters love him so much. I don't understand why people will queue for 5 hours to see him but they do, in good humour. They don't do that or anything like it for Biden. Oddly, there is virtually no co

Drrayeye I'm sure that living in the US would give me a different perspective, especially as I only have the media to rely on for my insights on that, and I have found that to be very misleading, but you don't speak for all Americans so maybe I wouldn't see things your way even if I lived in the US. I've lived in the UK most of my life, but it didn't stop me from being blind to the creeping

Drrayeye Thats you and just about everyone else in the dark about exactly what happened, and that's because the media in the UK is much the same as the Us media and they were too busy pushing their agenda to report the truth. They don't investigate anymore, they just stick to the narrative no matter what. This is very bad for everyone, even the socialists who the media are overwhelmingly favou

I saw a quote about Trump recently, I've no idea how old it is. "Some people take Trump literally but not seriously, his supporters take Trump seriously but not literally". When I looked at what he does rather than what he say's I was shocked at how biased my view had been, and the same thing happened with Obama. I got all my info on them from the media, which turned out to be a lazy

Thats not how I remember it Muppedo. Boris promised to honour the Brexit referendum result while all the socialist parties were doing their best to dishonour it. Thats what won him the election. For some people it was simply that they wanted to leave, for others it was that they wanted to live in a society that still respected their vote. I had voted socialist all my life and I wanted to sta

I have to correct you, OCaptain. I never said climate change was the "result" of left wing bias. I was talking about how it is reported here in the UK, and in the US and Australia. Every weather event now comes with a "climate change" tag, no matter how many times the self same thing has occurred in the past. Every environmental issue is the same. I'd really like to say I'm im

PB Bytes, I would say that the UK is much like the US and Australia when it comes to the news, anything but the mainstream media is likely to be more balanced in their reporting. The BBC has fallen off a cliff in this regard now, as has ITV and channel 4. Brexit, climate change and now the US election has seen such a left wing bias from these sources, along with most of the bigger newspapers, led

If you conducted a poll of Brits who still have a positive view of the BBC it would fare much worse than Trump has here. The days of the BBC as a credible impartial news reporter are long gone. You should get your info from a more reputable source.

Everyone is limited by their education, even climate scientists, but being a biologist places Jim Steele in an excellent position to assess whether the outlook of a species is being properly determined by climate scientists, who aren't qualified to make such distinctions and as Jim has shown they still get it very wrong despite knowing better. Not that you need any qualifications to see that pr

OCaptain, I am still mostly undecided about the role of CO2 in our climate, and I tend to err on the side of the climate being almost exclusively natural on a global scale. This simply because there is no need to invoke CO2 in order to explain the present observations. As things are there is nothing going on now that hasn't happened in the past without the extra CO2 so I really can't go along

We're in lockdown Ray. Only essential workers are in employment. Everyone else has to stay at home except for shopping (we have to queue to get in and keep 6feet away from everybody inside with a limit on purchases) , exercise, unavoidable travel and medical emergencies. The Royal Mint is making medical visors. Maclaren racing team is making ventilators, as are Dyson vacuum cleaners, Rolls Royce

OCaptain, Realclimate is very similar to Tony Hellers site in many ways, I find. Both are preaching to their choirs and both are quite selective in their content. I try to look at all sides in the climate debate because I'm still unconvinced regarding the alarmists, but also largely unimpressed by the contrarians. Maybe when the predictions more closely match the reality I'm experiencing I'll c
