Cool! Thanks, lover, for posting the image from Amenhotep III tomb. ...Another example of one of the many things I love about studying Ancient Egypt -- there seems to be no end to intriguing new stuff. The Djed glyph has been a fascination for me, because it is clearly one of the most ancient and also of course featured in the name of one of the most important and most mysterious Old Kingdom kings -- Djedefre. And in Black Genesis book, RB and I discuss the Djedefre cartouche (and we feature a nice picture of it) at the site on the ancient path to Yam, that used to be called "Djedefre water mountain" and we renamed (in Black Genesis) "Djedefre Sun Temple" ... anyhow on the central inscription of that site, right next to the Djedefre cartouche is another inscription of disputed meaning again featuring a nice rendering of the Djed glyph...
And now your interesting giant-Djed-erecting scene by Amenhotep III, and I see that Amenhotep himself apparently had a very intriguing phenotypical look about him [en.wikipedia.org]
