Ogygos,
There are no typos in my post, which is a copy of my message to StarryNight Pro.
The important relevant value is the culminating declination. As I wrote:
I calculate Vega culminating North at declination 86.54 degrees.
Starry Night Pro (6.4.3) shows Vega culminating North at 86.2407 degrees.
What does this jgiesen tool show for the culminating declination?
How does this tool make the calculation? Does it list its expected error?
