That difference is due to the calculated orientation of Earth’s pole. My question is how does Starry Night Pro calculate Earth’s pole during that epoch (circa 12,000 BC)?”
Taking a look at this tool:
I plugged in your older values: (0.20103, 0.28747), and checked Precession only( proper motion unchecked). I then inserted the date 12008 BC. I got a declination of 86.534 degrees almost identical to your 86.54 degrees value. So is this a typo, did you mean 12008 BC instead of 12070 BC? On the other hand in this tool if we check Proper motion also we get a declination of 85.261 degrees. In your calculations did you consider proper motion or is this simply a coincidence?
It seems that Vega’s maximum declination according to this applet is at 11590 BC. The minimum altitude of Vega at Giza is 26.35 deg at this date.
