Very good points. There are some of those in the global-warming-alarmism crowd who feel that if you don't go along with their claims, your house deserves to be burned down.
Perhaps it is best not to just debate theories like AGW on their own. They are part of a much larger story. The human story.
As far back as recorded history goes, we have evidence that early civilizations believed in the world's imminent destruction. In my book, I explain about a Sumerian tablet dated back to 2800 BC that warns how those were the final days of the earth's planet.
Today, many of these fears still exist in the mind. Whether those are the minds of New Agers, climate scientists, or Bible believers makes no difference. It is the same underlying fear that man has been coping with for at least 5,000 years.
It is this fear which needs to be overcome, once and for all.
