LOL, you are not the first one to make that mistake, I may have to clarify my signature somehow. Annie Dillard is an American writer and poet whose prose style I very much admire. My name is actually Brian. Nice to meet you.

This is a welcome thread and I surely want to extend that to you so I will wait to start another thread here on AOM, with your permision, to pick up on a couple of the points you make.

One brief question though. You seem to be holding the scientific community to a far higher standard of accuracy than those who oppose the scientific evidence of AGW. I notice from brief examination in your blog that you quote Watt several times. If one were to hold statements and attacks on science in that realm to the same scrutiny that climate science is held to, how do you think he would fare? There is after all almost a 97% concesus, give or take, among the scientific community that AGW is indeed happening, though I know that Watt, Heartland, Cato, ect., ect., would howl in disagreement with me.

I generally don't quote wiki unless trying to give some background but in this case just for a framework of discussion:

[en.wikipedia.org]

[en.wikipedia.org]

Anyway, more on another thread. I am certainly glad to have you here and looking forward to hearing your perspective on all this.

Best Regards,
Brian

"I spent 33 years and four months in active military service and during that period I spent most of my time as a high class muscle man for Big Business, for Wall Street and the bankers. In short, I was a racketeer, a gangster for capitalism."
