Hi Annie,

Thanks for the comments. The way the AGW proponents behave is so unreasonable (claiming species are endangered when they are fine, cherry-picking and ignoring evidence that doesn't fit their agenda, acting as though there is a "consensus" on AGW exists, etc.) it makes it very difficult to to take anything they say seriously. They have many of the same characteristics in common with religious extremists, that it is little wonder that AGW is often mocked and called a religion.

There is no "ten years left" until the climate change does us all in, the way some of the hardcore environmentalists claim (and have been claiming -- for over 20 years).

Having said that, of course I would agree that there are economic and environmental challenges. There always are. The world only has a finite amount of natural resources, and it is important to consume at a rate that nature can keep up with. And who can forget the "fiscal cliff" -- after that was resolved, we were then told there will be three more such cliffs. So reckless spending does need to be reigned in. But while I'm all for increased responsibility in these areas, one thing I do not stand for is the fearmongering and soothsaying. The idea that a societal collapse is imminent is nothing new, and in fact, moves us further away from any actual progress.
