To think of all those years of arguments, from Bauval onwards: is there an Orion Correlation? How does it fit? Which way do you view it? What's the "right way up"? It's always been difficult to be able to say - yes, this IS Orion, it's not just coincidence. But this device of Scott's just about puts the argument to bed: you start off with the Orion belt stars as your blueprint, and they give you the layout and dimensions of the Gizamids almost implicitly.
I was confused at first about the term "fingerprint" but I get it now - it's about threshold scoring almost, de-engineering the correlation back to its origins and showing the extrapolations which lead us to the real structures on the Giza plateau. It's certainly the most scientific basis for believing the OCT I have ever seen, and I'm sure Robert Bauval himself will welcome it. To me, it's a "smoking gun".
