DB: The problem is Scott your dimensions used above yield an angle of 44.3351 degrees not 48 and 42.
SC: You are talking about two completely different angles. Your 44.33* angle is the internal SW-NE angle of G3 base. The 48/42* angle is the angle of the theorised L1 line. Were L1 to have been rotated differently then G3 base would have had different proportions (as would, of course, G2 and G1).
DB: Again the angles you are using are arbitrary and are just being used by you to match the result not used to get the results.
SC: And I have to disagree, Don. I see nothing arbitrary at all in using the Orion Belt stars (with G1 and G3 fulcrum) and then, in a simple and systematic fashion, determining the bases of all three Gizamids to a very high degree of accuracy, including their order, their orientation and also prediciting that G3 would be rectangular in shape, an apparaent fact (awaiting confirmation) that you have long resisted in spite of Lehner's (unpublished) data.
