Your link did'nt work for me. Have the Kabalion in book form though..

The founding fathers mentioned what they were referring to by saying "We hold these truths to be self-evident".

Here's the whole line.

And here's the whole section (after which in the document is listed in depth what they saw as injustice)

The truths to which they're referring as self-evident are the rights to live free from tyrannical oppression, it's the very purpose of the Declaration of Independance. How then can the philosophies of any philosophy be transferred onto this statement other than the philosophy and only the philosophy of what they are endorsing with the document?
