Bring it on!
That’s my feeling on the subject. I have been praying for god to return to his/her creation and take ownership. An ownership society should have an ownership god. To date, I must be honest, my prayers have gone unanswered.
Patrick, back in 1999, my niece’s in-laws sold their suburban house and moved to a hill-top in Arkansas. They sent all their relatives a letter stating that the coming millennium and the Y2K crisis were bound to usher in the apocalypse. I mean (or I should say, they meant, that) the end of the world was on its way! This sounds familiar, doesn’t it?
In any case they are still on their mountain but are as happy as clams. They were always rural type people and enjoy the country life.
Patrick, another interesting apocalyptic occurrence occurred just before the Iraq war. A religious group purchased space on bill boards along the highway and put up the following message. The billboards were painted all black and in small while letters was written: “Don’t make me come down there. – God.” As you could imagine when I saw this I said:
“Bring it on!”
I remember these words from Psalm 23:
Even though I walk through the
valley of the Shadow of death,
I fear no evil,
For thou art with me;
thy rod and thy staff,
they comfort me.
Better than being at our sides, I hope for God’s return and his help in healing this poor old world. We need god’s help and he is just the guy to do it.
Bring it on!
