I quibble slightly with the use of the word sacred', but that is because there is an implication of a link with something supernatural which I most certainly do not agree with! Ideally, there would be a word we could use which has the same strength of meaning as 'sacred' but without the religious overtones, but that's not likely to happen soon!
If I could still read visually, that's a book I would buy. Audio versions are excellent and I have of course been listening to the article, but it's just not the same as being able to jot down notes as I go along.

Edit: I listened beyond the article to a couple of comments and one mentioned something about sound giving rise to hieroglyphs which the person quibbled slightly. If you, David Elkington, have a comment on this, I would be interested to hear.
