I was thinking of you only yesterday. I’ll return to that momentarily.
‘Lite’ in the title differentiates between the original and retired DMT & My Occult Mind and this much smaller revised version: DMT & My Occult Mind - Lite.
The original was too wordy, in my opinion, comprising >200,000 words. The Lite version was whittled down to ~45,000 words. Lite was (and still is) intended as the script for an audiobook, but after retiring the original work, a flash of inspiration saw me decide to publish the script as DMT & My Occult Mind - Lite.
Copies of the original are no longer available. I was shocked earlier this year to learn a second-hand copy of the original sold in a private sale, unrelated to me, for >$800
Lite is a variant of the standard light (i.e. it’s not as large or heavy as the original - which was quite a tome, to say the least).
My 'occult mind' refers to the significant influence that Occult literature (especially Theosophy) has had on my mind and my ontological outlook as a young adult. Also, in the sense that Occult means hidden, I can deem it also refers to the very bizarre and highly energetic projection of mind-stuff (or whatever nomenclature is eventually settled upon) that visibly emanates from the DMT user (and seemingly serves as a signal to powerful non-physical life forms).
To be clear, I’m don’t consider myself an expert in Occult or Theosophical matters, but I do find considering those works opened me to new vistas of ideas that chimed with me. I do consider an occult interpretation of the DMT experience will ultimately prove to be the most accurate and the most meaningful.
The intrigue arising upon finding the intensity of my tinnitus increased after smoking DMT, was because that innate high pitch sound was such a very significant aspect of my very early childhood. As a small child alone in bed at night, that sound (which remains with me today but in a notably diminished capacity), was so incredibly pronounced. I thought everyone experienced the same cranially-housed sound. It was such a mysterious aspect of my being. I wondered why my parents never spoke about that sound. So, finding DMT immediately amplified that sound was of profound interest to me.
Now, you came to mind yesterday after I received notification that my work was referenced and quoted in science paper: ‘Entity Encounters and the Therapeutic Effect of the Psychedelic Mystical Experience’ by PhD candidate Anna Lutkajtis. It’s a very lucid and interesting read.
