Hi,

My understanding of people on aya is that some can function quite normally while on it.... I'm thinking basic stuff, like going into supermarkets and being able to buy things without calling attention to yourself, or getting petrol...Thoughts?

I’ve not heard of people undertaking those everyday basic activities under the influence of ayahuasca and I wouldn’t recommend it or seek to try that myself. Dose is always a relevant factor, so I’m not saying such actions would be impossible on a dose with negligible mind manifesting capacity, but I find the thought of venturing to try that discomforting.

A big takeaway here is you saying you would hop on a jet to South America pronto under different circumstances. Tells me much about the flavours of your UK experience.

I would absolutely take the opportunity to try ayahuasca in its authentic South American setting, but to be clear, the comforts of a WC, a hot shower and a relatively short drive home when sober are all very appealing. I’ve experienced a domestic retreat presided over by reputable South American shaman and can say that was an exceptional experience, atop what is already an exceptional experience.
