I think the background and overview of ayahuasca in your new book are very helpful, but I'd like to go a bit further. As I've come to understand it, the term "ayahuasca" really represents a family of plant preparation admixtures that include sources of DMT as a psychoactive ingredient and other non psychoactive ingredients that may or may not have been possible to extract. These mixes of an uncertain amount of DMT folded into a blend of other ingredients clearly make determining the most safe and effective dosage level problematic--and therapeudic experiences difficult to replicate. It also makes side effects almost impossible to eliminate, anticipate, or control.
I'm sticking with Baba Fats: the time honored-slow but sure--natural high. For me, that's through the Christian way of life.
