The length of the Great Year varies according to different sources. I believe that the method used by Hancock et al is 71.6 x 360 = 25776 years. Sri Yukteswar in "Holy Science" postulates 24000 years.

To date there does not appear to exist confirmation of either postulations.

In fact, it could be that the Rate of Precession may not be standard at all, but may vary due to forces exerted by cosmic bodies.

How many cycles of the Great Year have been accurately measured so as to fit the Scientific Method ie testable and repeatable, so that the deductions drawn from hypotheses based on the zodiac can be considered valid?
