I'm all for the idea that consciousness requires more than a materialist explanation. But Cartestian dualism isn't a good enough model, as far as I can tell.
As a Cartesian dualist, how do you explain that a damaged brain causes a malfunctioning mind? Whatever consciousness is, there seems to be a huge dependency upon the physical. The brain of a psychopath is physically different from a regular brain, causing a mind that doesn't feel empathy. Many physical substances, from coffee to hard drugs, cause brain changes which cause mind changes.
None of this fits with the idea that the human personality is an immaterial entity of some kind.
