Hmm...any connection to Mt Kailash, do you think?
Kailash, or Kailasa, in Sanskrit means something like 'crystal' or probably a bigger meaning of 'long lasting, clear and solid, precious' and such.
Important in a few religions; has two lakes in front of it where one is healthy and the other dead; and close to the sources of a few important rivers for the region.
Lake Manasarovar is where Shiva and Indra swam as swans.
