Edmond,

I am saying that the Egyptians were the navigators way past Punt into central-southern Africa. An exchange of symbology. "Your Hopi have some African and Asian genes, not implying they had Egyptian art, ritual, myth, etc."

I am guessing you haven't read any of my books. [www.theorionzone.com]

If abstracts are not iconographic, then perhaps they are entoptic designs suggested by your fellow countryman David Lewis-Williams.

"Shapes do not diffuse. Sets of allocations do. Egyptian iconography is very well studied, and there is no trace of it on the rocks of Southern Africa." Please clarify first statement.

Ancient Egypt is commonly referred to as 'km.t' , believed to be a reference to the black Nile Delta earth. The determinative O49 is used to designate the term for 'country, inhabited/cultivated land', called the niw.t (a political designate). It is a circle with a cross which represents a street, 'town intersection'.
