While largely unsubstantiated, various accounts regarding the native Texas coastal people known as the Karankawa were reported to be from “about five feet and ten inches” to “six feet in height”, to the more braggadocios descriptions of “ a staggering 6 to 7 feet tall”.
While undoubtedly “tall” to the relatively diminutive stature of the early European explorers, verifiable, tangible evidence of ‘seven feet’ has thus far proven elusive.
