" When we are not distracted by our conditional responses to the external world, our attention begins to look inward bringing the agendas that we believe to be intrinsic to our nature to the light of consciousness. Jason"

Clearly the best way to be not distracted by one's conditioned responses is to lose them. And one considers the effects of past trauma, of ours or our ancestors, to be part of this conditioning. So one focusses on that and one is not distracted from this task by considerations of religious texts or philosophers writings or anything else. It is just dealing with the nitty gritty of the self and past trauma.

But there certainly is a tradition of focus, such that one is not distracted with such a focus, and one focusses on the divine and such. And so there are these two views, to lose it ( surely an extremely long process ) or to focus. What thinks you ?

Cheers,
Mo
