Is Boxing morally acceptable?

If anyone would like to use this thread to discuss whether two men bashing the hell out of each other is good for a society that wants to become civilised, please go ahead!

I don't have an opinion either way because perhaps if two men want to knock each other out, they should be allowed to do so if they are both consenting adults?

Is boxing really a proper sport?

I don't know! Please have your say...
