Some think even an instant kill is torture. Hook a fish and you are horrible. Never mind that for about $20 and a few hours at the lake you can feed a family of seven for a week.
If you go every other week then you just fed a family on a tight financial budget for about a $1 a week. Grab a .22 and $10 worth of shells(500 back when I was a teen) and you could put quite a few rabbits and squirrels in the pot. Estimate 20 rounds for $10 for a rifle and now you have deer, hog, etc.(depending on your location) Throw in a decent size garden with a wide variety of vegetables then the food bill for a large family becomes very small indeed. You can eat healthy on naturally grown food for less then going to grocery store, if you have the land.
If you don't then the omnivores and vegetarians both go the grocery store and buy their food. I've never seen people buying groceries torturing the food in Wal-Mart.
At times it feels like a person, who eats meat, is on trial with the judge being Dr. Doolittle.
