A social and/or notice board and is not so much for discussing Grahams work, or related topics as covered by the other boards, but more like a place where people can share other things.
I figured I might be the only one to have an appreciation for bull fighting, and that's because of Hemingway. However, like all rituals forged in antiquity, it can lose its charm and purpose, so that's why I wouldn't be surprised to see it go eventually. However again, like other rituals that rely on the baiting or torture or killing of animals, banning might promote an even worse underground as is the case for cockfighting.
I mean, why do people keep pit bulls and cocks? Why did people in Shakespeare's time enjoy bear baiting so much? Why did Romans enjoy their cruel spectacle sports and gladiatoral contests so much? And why were executions put on public display for so long? I expect it elicits a kind of schadenfreude or reptilian pleasure that cannot be denied.
Last, since so many creatures are going extinct.. including the once common birds here in the USA.. and pollution and over development are harming and killing all creatures, where is the outcry and banning for all of this?
