I was the same way with the first few times using them! There are 3 ways of linking the URL. The most important thing is to be sure you have the complete URL(i.e. including the http:// in it).

1st way is the <> symbols.
2nd way is the [] tags with url and /url in them at front and end of URL
3rd way is the [] tags with url= and /url in them respectively. With this one you can use text to represent the URL which is helpful if placing link in the middle of text.

Using the GHMB "help page" URL: [www.grahamhancock.com]

1st way < [www.grahamhancock.com] > will look like this without the space after/before the <> symbols. Taking these two spaces out makes it: [www.grahamhancock.com]

2nd way [www.grahamhancock.com]
