You really are either late to the discussion, or you’ve only scraped the surface of the lunacy that was the 9/11 Truth Movement.
For example, rather late in the game, a crazy lady named Dr. Judy Wood came up with this idea that some kind of Directed Energy Weapon from space was the only way to logically explain what she called the “dustifying” of the Towers in New York City. It was introduced here by a since-banned forum member named Mephisto:
In March of 2011, a self-identified Holocaust Denier forum member, Thunderbird, started a thread about what he identified as prefabricated broadcast footage from the day of 9/11/2001:
Later in 2011, forum member Quixote began a thread of debunking 9/11 conspiracy theories.
2011 was a big year for 9/11 discussions, as it was the 10th anniversary of the attacks. I started a thread called 9/11- Bring your best evidence:
Forum member Susan Doris started a thread named “Among the Truthers”, named after a book of the same name:
Quixote started another thread specifically discussing free fall in WTC 7:
These should give you a good idea of the dizzying array of goofy things that people have come up with to explain what we all saw with our own eyes, everything from hush-a-boom demolition, mini-nukes, thermite, thermate, as well as the equally goofy motives for it.
Oh, and finally, I don’t remember anyone that was attributing the collapse of WTC 7 to fires starting in the basement. Do you recall where you heard that idea?
