here's the evidence that started Sitchin off on his ramble about the tenth planet (this is the bedrock of his entire theory)

To begin with the image shows the random number of eleven planets of varying sizes vaguely orbiting a star.
The Sumerians are not known to have had telescopes so they could not have known about the outer planets (Uranus, Neptune and Pluto) that are not visible to the naked eye. Sitchin claims that the Sumerians were in contact with an alien race that gave them detailed information about the solar system and Planet X.
He says that the knowledge of the extra planets came from communication with these aliens and that the Sumerians considered the Moon to be a planet, which brings the total known planets to ten.
This would indeed leave on of the planets in the diagram left over to be the mystery Planet X.

If we assume aliens gave the Sumerians information about the solar system that they could not find out for themselves, then why did they not correct the Sumerians on their belief that the Moon was a planet
Also, why does the diagram not show rings around any planets, or moons, or the asteroid belt, or the fact that the planets orbit at different distances from the Sun?
The fact is that the Berlin Seal does not even show a simple diagram of the solar system when the information for it supposedly came form a race that had travelled through it.

And hasn't it occured to anyone that a planet with an orbit of 3600 years would have gone tumbling off into space by now. unless its own mass was very light and the object it was orbiting very dense. If that's the case. How are we still here at all.

Add to that the evidence we have in a continuous line from the present day to the start of civilisation in mesopotamia and the astronaut/annunaki he describes should have visited a few more times since. In 1600 bc and again this week. This doesn't correlate with the slow growth of language in the area or the slow growth of cultivation. Starting with basic cunieform and a plough in 5000bce they evolved over 4000 years to a complicated and varied language and crop rotation and irrigation. At what point did the aliens turn up and help out again. The difference between Sitchin and Daniken is Huge. Sitchin takes available evidence and twists it. whereas Daniken goes out In the field to find evidence which he can then twist. The difference is huge which is why I feel quite justified in saying that E.V.D is a great guy whereas Sitchin is a charlatan.
p.s. Sitchin is now saying that the Homer's Illyad is actually a story about the astronaut/annunaki siege against troy.
What's next.
