We don't have much detailed information going back thousands of years for much of anything, and the first stage of problem solving is called "blue sky thinking"--where even the craziest ideas are encouraged--not ridiculed.
I don't know that those depictions are light bulbs, but one can produce some electricity in Leyman jars. I don't know that the pyramids were built to generate energy, but one can apparently get a jolt from static electricity at the very top.
I've always been a sucker for Graham's ancient civilization quests.
