"The story as told in the KJV it is all Eve's fault... however, neither Adam or Eve knew it was evil to disobey.... until they ate of the fruit. It was God's fault for not giving them the knowledge in the first place.
So the first sin is not to take responsibility for what one has done... such as God then placing the blame on man."
My view on this:
"...it is all Eve's fault..."; I disagree. Even though Eve was the FIRST to commit the 'original sin' by not believing God's Word and thus eating the forbidden fruit, Adam also, though he was the second to sin still committed the 'original sin'. By this I mean the same 'particular' sin was committed by Adam as was committed by Eve. By eating the forbidden fruit when he could have just said no he too did not believe God's Word concerning death being the outcome of this action. They are both guilty of the same sin of not believing God's Word and that sin is what is titled 'original sin' (At least in my opinion). Adam, like Eve, is also guilty of paradise lost since he too didn't say no when he could have, so it is NOT all Eve's fault. This, in my opinion, is why God punished both of them and not just Eve.
As a side note, this part of the Genesis story is also the first case of 'passing the buck' so to speak. Adam's response to God; she made me do it, and Eve's response; well the serpent made me do it, and the serpents response (if it had been given a chance to make one); probably something like 'Oooh S__t'. lol.
