Elizabeth, although religion and science were once one, the science was only taught to the "initiates" (the learned men and women), otherwise it was presented as myth to the multitudes, simply because they would not be able to comprehend it. The mases also like a good "story", not some dry scientific explanation. Even today-- look at the ratio of how many people like to read scientific books and how many pick a Steven King novel. Or how many more millions prefer to learn about the Holy Blood Holly Grail research from a fictionalized thriller Da Vinci Code.

Even the OT Genesis myth talks about the world being born of vibration: in the beginning was the WORD. What is the word but a vibration? The word was magical in Egypt and that is where Moses was educated.

Since the clergy seems to have lost all esoteric/scientific understanding of the ancient scriptures they got busy inserting dogma and superstition.

On the Talisman thread about Lucifer, excerpts form masonic writings were quoted that show that the masons believe in some energy field, consisting of two opposite polarities that have to be kept in equilibrium.

I agree that we first have to come out of dark ages and re-discover certain scientific truths before we can fix our religions.
Then-we will have to go back to polytheistic gods and goddesses because that best describes the attributes of that one force :)
