Maybe someone should write the quintessential, epic, metafictional chronicle of a people from the pov of someone who believes their ancestors are entirely mythological... then someone comes along and pronounces the whole thing a sham... it was real all along! For that I suppose we'd need someone like Italo Calvino or maybe one of the dead absurdist surreal existentialists.
Could be just as fun, though... Maybe it could be titled: "Gone with the Whirlwind."
