Hi Rob,
Yes, you are correct about the seed of the Serpent branching off into it's own direction. That's a whole other subject. That seed you are referring to went EAST with Cain. There you will find the religion of the Serpent begins in ancient Babel and with Nimrod, the mighty lord. This is where the ancient Babylonion mysteries began.
Josephus in his Antiquities of the Jews, explains further what happend to Cain. Cain became a wanderer, then he began to make his living by terrorizing, steeling, and pillaging villages and murdering people. Afterward, he built cities. The Bible says Cain went east to dwell in the land of Nod. Now some scholars believe the land of "Nod" is the modern Mongolian region. There, he took a wife and bare another child named Enoch. This is not the same Enoch who is descended from Seth, Adam's son. I know some people mix these two up, but they are two different people. Josephus even mixes them up. But the Bible makes a clear distinction.
Among the Mongol's historical names is the name "Kahn". According to the Mongols, Khan was the father of their people. Famous leaders such as Kublar Khan and Ghengis Khan took on this name. Recently in the western desert of China, some very, very old mummies were found. Some of the mummies are Asian and some of the mummies are Aryan or Caucasian (this is just what the news and the Discovery Channel reported, I don't want to sound racist) and are at least over 4,000years old. When the mummies were exhumed, they were very well preserved, and it was found on them that they had a peculiar mark or tattoo on the side of their faces.
In the book of Genesis we read, "
Gen 4:15 "And the LORD said unto him, Therefore whosoever slayeth Cain, vengeance shall be taken on him sevenfold. And the LORD set A MARK upon Cain, lest any finding him should kill him."
Are these the descendants of Cain, I don't know. But the find IS very interesting, and shows that Westerners were living with Asians thousands of years ago.
The fact that I am linking modern Christianity with ancient Egypt doesn't bother me. I see there are still two distinct religions going on here. One , beginning in ancient Egypt with the worship of the One True God, and the other Ancient Babylon. Both have been growing together for thousands of years.
Now, because of the Emperor Constantine, these two religions merged. We now have Christians practicing ancient Babylonian rituals, such as the worship of Isthar (Easter) with the fertility rituals (eggs and bunnies), and the worship of Tamuz, Nimrod's son who was born on December 25th ( with his ancient carvings showing him holding a deer in his arms). Now I know not all Christians practice these things. I know I don't.
It's true that later Egyptians began to "corrupt" the original stories and went off after pagan worship and practices. Even the Hebrews who were in Egyptian captivity began to pick up the new pagan rituals with the worship of "Hathor" and the golden calf. This is typical of the Hebrew peoples and later Israelites. They were always going off after strange gods, and God would have to punish them for it.
But I am talking about the "original" religion, not the later paganized form.
Remember, the Patriarch Joseph lived in Egypt and he married the daughter of the Pharaoh. And she bore him Ephriam and Manessah. But Joseph still believed in the One True God of Jacob. There has always been "a remnant" of believers. It is said that the daughter of Pharaoh, was also a descendant of the Hebrews.
Exodus 1:8-9
Now there arose up a new king over Egypt, which knew not Joseph. And he said unto his people, Behold, the people of the children of Israel [are] more and mightier than we:
At this point, it is obvious that a new family of strangers began to rule in Egypt. Because they didn't know who Joseph was. Not to know who the Visziar of Egypt was if you were an Egyptian would behighly unlikely. So this new dynasty of rulers were strangers. And it was at that time, that we begin to see some strange pagan rituals performed among the Egyptians.
This is just my understanding after many years of study.
Respectfully,
Kimberly
