Thanks Lee. Yes I know about this Lux connection and it is true that a lot of french words can be traced to latin but I had seen this alternative theory the one with "fer" the french word for iron in an alchemical website.
Wish I could remember it now.

PS. I see an interesting connection between
Luc in Lucifer and Saint Luc the patron of painters and phycisians.....
I think etymology and archeology are constantly evolving...

what do you think of the theory of the book of Abbe Boudet
about the language of the birds, the true celtic language of Cromlech-les-
Bains (near Rennes-le-Chateau) where Abbe Boudet trace the original
language to "english" ????????????
When I decorticate the english words it makes a lot of sense to me
and in fact it helped for the french as well and also to begin to do poems.
Languages are so fascinating.
