Before relating how and why the men of Jesus' time called him Christ or Cristos, I want to state that I know there was a Jesus. In fact, Flavius Josephus identified two of these Jesuses. Also, Christianity, called in those days Kristayani, did not begin with Jesus Christ. Like Buddhism, it has existed for many thousands of years.
To understand Jesus, we must first understand that the only religion in the known world of Christ's time, was Sabianism, called Sabha-yana in those days. "Sabha" is a Sanskrit word meaning "Assembly of the Gods." This included Judaism, Greek Religion, Hinduism, Buddhism, Roman Religion, and any other kind of religion.
In Sanskrit, KRS or KRSTA (Krista) means "lead or conduct an army; become master of; overpower; draw or make furrows; to plow." "Yana" means, "path; course; the vehicle of arriving at knowledge; the means of release from repeated births, such as in Hinayana and Mahayana Buddhism.
KRISTAYANI (Christian) means "Master of arriving at knowledge; Master of the means of release from repeated births."
In those days, in all the varied Sabian cults, such a master was called a Kristayani, Krs, or Krsta. He was also called Yeshwa (God Shiva). Jesus name was really Yeshua, derived from the Sanskrit Yeshwa. Two important ancient "Jesus Christs" were the Hindu "Iesus Krishna," (God Krishna) and the Persian monarch Cyrus (really KRS). Our English language has so torn up King Cyrus' name that we no longer know what he was. Even the Bible speaks of him as an "anointed one." The myths of our Jesus, the Persian Cyrus, and the Hindu Krishna are nearly identical in many ways. This is because the adherents of Kristayani transferred what they perceived to be the inherited qualities of a true KRSTA to each successor.
ISLAM is another religion that did not begin with Christ. It was said to have begun with Adam. To confirm this, read the book, History of the Afghans,by Khwaja Neamat Ullah.
ISH means "Supreme Master; God Shiva." LAYAM means "Attached to; clinging to; dissolved or absorbed in." ISHLAYAM.
Another name of the Sabian KRISTA was "Apollo; Apollonius." This name derived from its Sanskrit equivalent: "Abolo; Abolono."
For this reason, the Greek world converted to Christ before the Romans did because Apollo was the most popular pagan god of the time. Kristayani (Christianism) first spread eastword as far as Anatolia (today's Turkey) - and even beyond - after Christ's crucifixion. That was because the various Apollo cults regarded him as the reincarnation of "him who had mastered the means of release from repeated births": Yeshua Krista; Iesus Krishna; Apollo; Apollonius."
What I have said here is true and verifiable by anyone who really wants to know what Apolloites of Christ's time thought of him. Don’t forget: the Apolloites of Greece recognized him first; This is one of the main reasons why more and more authorities are convinced that ancient Judaism and Greek religion were variations of one and the same thing.
