At the bottom, the two systems are very, very similar. Comparison between the two is quite helpful. On the one hand, the Dogon myths are quite detailed and seem to be substantially intact, while the Egyptian myths are often fragmented. On the other hand, Egyptian language can be very complex, while the Dogon language is quite simple. Anytime I'm stymied by one, I cross check to the other, and can usually resolve the impasse.
