As to the "pagan" beliefs or rituals it is very unfortunate they all are put in the same basket. I am a big fan of ancient Egypt and believe as did Giordano Bruno that theirs was “the only true religion” (science, art and supernatural combined—see Laird comments above). So I thought perhaps Milo meant the excesses that occurred with some cultures like sacrificing children to Moloch etc. But if I were to describe myself—I feel pagan too. :)
