Not a physical initiation. An initiation of the Holy Spirit while one is in the physical body and the initiator is in his/her physical body. whew... No need for dunking, no need for ritual..although Jesus WAS dunked by John.
John 3:13 speaks of the need for EVERYONE--even Jesus--to be initiated while in the physical form: " And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven."

She was initiated by a Shabd mystic who gave her the Holy Spirit initiation, the "Word"...as was I given it from her. So yes--God comes in the flesh in the form of the adept, just as Jesus was God in human form, and thousands of others throughout the ages. But he did not have his transformation until his initiation, followed by his time in the desert. He was not consciously merged with God when he was a kid.

Mysticism goes way beyond "Hi Dad, I'm here". Believe me, I've been there too. It's the difference between looking at the ocean and jumping into it.
We cannot meet God on his level, so he must come to us on our level--human form. If it were as simple as you say, the world would not full of 6 billion unrealized souls, not to mention the animals, incarnating over and over... Jesus came for his marked sheep, and he left. And they continued on for a while collecting THEIR marked sheep, while imparting Jesus' message. But THEY did the initiating. Peter, Paul, John, etc...
I follow no ritual. Initiation is not a ritual. It's a connection, a quickening at the eye-center chakra made by the initiator--the initiation of "fire and water"--not physical water, but the "living water"--the Shabd, the Word, the Sound...and also meditation instructions are given. Very specific.
It is very real--not some abstract, lofty concept thing... Things happen. :)
> Would that inner path be spiritual or fleshly?
This path is strictly an inner path, a spiritual path. There is nothing outside of us. It's all within.
