What is important is whether the individual has enough discrimination to decide whether their experience is relevant to their spiritual development - or even their material development for that matter. If it leads one to ponder on issues of enhancing ones path in this life or getting one to think about issues of the coninutance of life after death, then I'd say it's of value.
