Harry, I read the Buddhist idea that the spirit needs three days to disengage itself from the physical body in the Tibetan Book of the Dead. Ever since I read that, I've wondered whether or not I'd be willing for my body to be cremated immediately after my passing. Back in the 1940s, a popular American author, Jack Woodford, discussed this. He described in the most horrible detail how it might feel for a person not yet disengaged from his body to have his body cremated. Gene
