Has it, or any particular faith belief ever been necessary for the Earth or our species?
Is religious belief necessary for any period of time in the Earth’s existence? Does this apply to any particular religious belief? If so, why do you think that might be?
The title of THN’s topic is ‘Christianity for the Age of Aquarius’, although his aim, as I have understood it, is to show that Christianity was based on ideas of the zodiac. The fact is that both Christianity and the zodiac are entirely humanly created ideas, and I have had a question running along at the back of my mind and now realise that it is the word ‘for’ in the title.
I wondere, therefore, what is religion, religious belief, for? I can think of no purpose now and in the future which cannot be better filled by knowledge of reality, wise philosophy and practical wisdom which do not need a faith belief in anything supernatural* because they are all human ideas.
