Good morning! Discussing the “existence” of the “historical Jesus” is always difficult because, well, he died 2,000 years ago and no one is certain about the whereabouts of his body. However, IMO, the arguments about Jesus’ existence must revolve around two ideas:

1. That Jesus was a male religious leader who through his actions helped create the Christian religions that still exist today, and
2. Jesus was a god/man who performed supernatural miracles which formed the basis of the Christian religions which have existed to this very day.

The 2. Conception is difficult for many folks to accept nowadays because we believe in physical view of reality rather than a supernatural view. That said, I don’t see how anyone could deny the possibility of the 1st conception. To argue that a male religious leader called Jesus couldn’t have existed in the 1st century of the common era seems quite preposterous.

An interesting idea about Jesus can be found in Irenaeus “Against Heresies” chapterXXII, entitled: “The Thirty Aeons are not typified by the fact that Christ was baptised in his thirtieth year: He dis not suffer in the twelfth month after his baptism, but was more than 50 years old when he died.”
