According to the author Lynn Picknett there were around 40 men claiming to be the Messiah, hence the parody of Monty Python's Life of Brian. They were waiting for him.Is it possible a couple of these men were walking along and it was the Fishers who realised that Jesus was the true one ?
On another note I know nothing of those ancient languages, but the use of the plural is usual in so many.For example if introduced in French one says Vous, the plural of You, and drops to Tu when informal.The same in Germany, where a Police Officer must be spoken to as You plural.We had Thee and Thou but lost it. It is a note of Respect.So could they have referred to Jesus in the plural as a mark of honour , much like Her Majesty for our Queen ? Just a thought.
