I should have included: I don’t know that error in copying is necessarily any more specific, than calling it “biological reproduction” or “evolutionary change.”
Copying seems to me to indicate a process that accurately produces copies of something. If it doesn’t, then we should look for a better concept.

In this sentence, I was amplifying something you said, that evolution was a slow process. My point was that since it is a slow process, changes might be hard to see. That’s all.
